No, the KA-1 model offers passive noise reduction with an NRR (Noise Reduction Rating) of 24dB, providing a quieter cockpit experience.

"I can only hear on one side of the ear?"

If the plane has a "Mono" system and the headset is in "Stereo" setting, the headset will only output in one ear. Switch in the middle of the cord needs to be changed to "Mono". Only a "Stereo" system in "Stereo" setting will output in both ears.

"Microphone is intermittent. There is a delay in communicating."

Check first that the squelch on the plane's system is tuned properly to match the noise level. It needs to be adjusted lower if it's not transmitting the first words.

Does the headset fit comfortably over glasses?
